Food is more than just energy for your body. There is food that’s good for the mind, like fish, and there’s food that’s good for the soul. But soul food is more than just a delicious combination of collard greens and macaroni and cheese; the cuisine has a rich history that dates back to 15th century USA.
Like all good meals, soul food is best shared with friends and family. Sure, the actual quality of the food is essential to a memorable meal, but so is the company. No one can blame Goodie Mob for the sad portrayal of fast food – having a cold, dry burger that fell on the floor with a side of overly salted fries not only tastes disgusting, it does nothing for the soul. Pass the cornbread, please.
“Soul Food” is from Goodie Mob’s 1995 debut of the same name. You know, back when Cee-Lo was cool.
