CMW 2014: Port Juvee at Hard Luck

I’ve been saying for a few years that Charlottetown’s Danks are Canada’s answer to The Strokes, but it may be time to reconsider that assertion.

Calgary’s Port Juvee (formerly known as Bleachers) carried that same Is This It swagger to the Hard Luck stage, Friday night, and proved themselves considerably more badass than the Danks can muster—like 30-something juvenile delinquents (maybe it’s the ripped jeans). There’s nothing half-assed about their laid-back vibe, though (as evidenced by “Half The Time I’d Rather Be Waiting,” up above).

You still have multiple chances to catch Port Juvee, this CMW; they’re playing two more gigs on Saturday night: 8:00 PM at the Supermarket and 2:00 AM at the Dakota Tavern.
