The Telescope presents: the top albums of 2013. We gathered best-of lists from staff and contributors, crunched some numbers and came up with twelve records that unanimously wowed us this year.
We gave this disc the review treatment back in June; check it out *here.*
What else to say? If you’ve spent any time near Jose Contreras, you’ll know his enthusiasm never gets old, and Organized Accidents proves the same of his moodiness (evidenced by “Zoomies,” up above)—distant, dream-like hymns are rarely this consistently engaging.
By Divine Right’s ninth album is no downer, mind you—it houses its fair share of propulsive rock and closes with a charming lark named “We Fuckin’ Ruled” (title shortened to “We F’n’R,” for the sake of the weak-hearted).
We called this a “hit parade” in June, and that’s still what it sounds like, six months later.
