There’s something inherently romantic about the idea of raising hell with your partner. The high of committing a crime and getting away with it, the adrenaline of being chased – it’s all so Bonnie and Clyde!
The fun grinds to a halt once someone gets shot. The romance is gone when a corpse or two is involved, and suddenly driving at top speed down the open highway is less liberating and more a question of survival. Saskatchewan’s The Deep Dark Woods do, however, provide an excellent soundtrack.
“18th of December” is from their latest album Jubilee (Six Shooter Records).
