Spacehog – “In The Meantime”

Sure, they were a one-hit wonder, but what a hit!

This video was a high water mark of sorts for kids coming of age in small town Ontario in the mid ’90s. It was one of the few tangible hints—aside from William Burroughs novels, if the local library bothered to carry any—that somewhere, out there, there might be people that are a little different than the next door neighbours.

Rumours have it Spacehog are at work on a new album. Dare to dream…

[Update: the album was made—2013’s As It Is on Earth]

What a great track from Space Hog. Definitely a high water mark for kids even in places as far as Mexico City. Back in the days when MTV had real VJ’s and shows for certain genres and sub-genres of rock and the abused and often obtuse term “alternative rock” (basically a lazy term to categorize music that had no category).
It was a great way to listen to new music, when our local stores didn’t carry less popular bands.
I hate you Axl W. Rose and Co.

  2. Let’s hear it for real music television! You might like AUX TV, Alejandro…
